Covid 19, wild bush fire, tsunami, fleeing a country at war, drought, it doesn’t even have to be something as global as this. Breakdown of a relationship, domestic abuse, financial difficulty, losing your home, bereavement or a severe accident. Situations such as these have a major impact on us and how we respond and adapt.  Like Dr Victor Frankl says, YOU HAVE THE CONTROL OVER HOW YOU RESPOND.

If you are currently in a situation where you feel life has dealt you a difficult hand, search inside yourself for that inner strength. Find your ROAR and focus on what you still have and can rebuild. I know that sounds a bit glib, but if you believe you can do it you will.

I was scammed in 2018 of all my savings, in 2019 I was ill for 6 months, here in 2020 I am rebuilding my life. I’m not living in the ideal house (whatever that is), I’m not in the job I was originally trained to do, I’m not earning the salary I used to but I do have a lifestyle that is less stressful and I am grateful for what I do have.

What I have done is rid myself of those who no longer walk the same path, those who I allowed to “use me” I now see clearly that the most important thing is to live with passion and do what you enjoy. I now have a career I love and I know how to look after myself first and foremost.

I’m not saying it is easy to turn things around emotionally and materially but the one thing you will most probably gain is a better understanding of who you really are as an individual and you will recognise just how resilient you are. Also along the way you will meet new people who are supportive and genuine, those who are more aligned to what your aspire to. I hope this helps some of you out there to understand only you can do what is required to get to where you want to be. Start believing you CAN DO IT and you will see results. If you stay in the same negative, fearful state that is where you will remain. Decide to make a change and then take some action.
